Treating and Curing Wrinkles

Why is it that practically everyone in the middle class to the upper levels of demographics in any country are worried about getting wrinkles? Maybe it?s the fear of getting old or looking old, or the wanting to look socially acceptable, or just plain vanity. We all have our own reasons. But whatever it is, everyone is united in wanting to solve this age old problem. However, in the first place, do we even have any idea about what actually causes these dreaded wrinkles? It?s highly probable that we don?t. The most important factor in finding a solution to any problem is finding out the root cause of it.

As we age, our body undergoes various changes, and so does our skin. In our skin, we have tissues known as collagen and elastin. These tissues are mainly responsible for making our skin firm and stretchable. As we grow older, the amount of collagen and elastin in our skin naturally diminishes. As a result, our skin becomes less elastic and weaker, thus creating ?wrinkles?. Experts say that the amount of wrinkles that a person will develop through the years also depends on the genetic make up of this individual. However, smoking, sun exposure, dry skin, and repetitive facial expressions and mannerisms such as frowning, can all enhance the creation of wrinkles that may or may not be permanently present.

Over the years, beauty experts and skin doctors have come up with a vast array products to treat and minimize wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle creams and ointments help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming. These wrinkle ointments and anti-aging creams help a lot in restoring the skin's firmness and elasticity. In addition, these products contain anti-oxidants and retinol that not only aids in reducing wrinkles and fine lines on the skin, but also stimulates collagen production.

For people seeking solutions to severe damage that has already been done to the skin, there are a number of treatments available ranging from chemical peels and dermabrasion to the latest and technologically advanced, computerized laser resurfacing. However, many people looking for skin repair are hesitant to try chemical or laser peels due to the painful procedure and long recuperation period they have to undergo. The results of these procedures however, are fantastic.

One less painful procedure is the particle skin resurfacing procedure. Dr. John Studd MD, plastic surgeon at the Hale clinic explains ? The process is removes the outer layer of skin in a highly controlled manner. Because of its preciseness, it is practically painless. By repeating this procedure a number of times, the younger skin moves to the surface, thus promoting visible changes in the skin?s texture, color and appearance. The benefits of this skin resurfacing procedure are that it causes very little pain or discomfort, no recuperative period is needed, there is minimal risk, it can be used for all skin types, and no anesthesia is required. ?

The important thing to remember when seeking out treatment for your wrinkles is to know first how your body can possibly react to the treatment. Mesothelioma Diagnosis

Mesothelioma is the technical name for cancer of the mesothelium.

It can be difficult to diagnose because many of the symptoms are similar to other conditions, like lung cancer.

The first visit you have with your doctor, he?ll ask you about exposure to asbestos. Older homes were made of asbestos.

Even though it?s hard to detect in its early stages, a doctor can perform a couple of tests. Chest x-ray, CT scan and MRI scan will allow the doctor to do a good diagnose.

A CT scan is used to create detailed images. MRI scan uses magnetism, radio waves, and a computer but does not utilize radiation to create a clear image.

These tests aid the doctor in differentiating between mesothelioma and other lung tumors. And they can also help in determining where the tumor is.

If necessary, a doctor might have to draw fluid to confirm its diagnosis. There are a couple of ways to do it.

First, a doctor can make a small incision to place a flexible tube in the area of the tumor which is called a thoracoscopy. Sometimes, however, a more extensive surgical procedure may be advisable.

Second, a thoracotomy can be done to open the chest to take a tissue sample and to remove most of the visible tumor. Also, a mediastinoscopy may be done to determine what kind of cancer it is.

Then, the tissue samples are looked at under a microscope to determine whether the tumor is a mesothelioma or some other type of cancer.

I decided to write about mesothelioma because my dad was exposed to asbestos while working on a house. Now, he?s breathing is effected by it.

Stop Acne Now!

Acne is a terrible scurge, afflicting people in every age group. Acne primarily affects teens and adolescents and can cause long lasting physical and emotional scars. For years we have either learned to deal with our acne, or spent thousands of dollars with dermatologists or on useless as seen on tv products we have seen (like Proactive). Currently there are two treatments that do work and one is actually cost effective. It is now a fact that acne can be treated, controlled and even cured.

We must become more educated on what acne is and whqat does and does not cause it. Acne is an inflammation of the skin that is caused by overproduction of sebum (oil) from our sbaceous glands and a low skin pH (acidity) that make ideal conditions for bacteria. This bacteria clogs the pores and causes pimples and deeper inflammed bumps and postules (acne). Acne is genetic as it is first started by the overproduction of oil and acidity levels. Chocolate and sugary items don't cause it.

Accutane (can only be prescribed) works by greatly reducing the production of sebum. This reduction in sebum will make the skin very dry and does have some bad side effects like possible liver damage and such so it is available only through your dermatologist and is used as a drastic or last measure. Basically it brings out all the acne you will have in the next 2-3 years all at once over the first 2 months and then it is all gone. The first 2 months are rough, however - I had this treatment.

TCA peels are a more affordable and less drastic alternative. TCA peels work by cleansing the skin, increasing the pH or acidity of the skin making it unfavorable for bacteris, and increasing the rate of skin regeneration thus hastening the healing process. TCA Peels work 1,000 times better than any overrated peroxide wash or cleansing system and have similar results to Accutane without any of the harsh side effects. They have been rated as one of the best at home products / treatments available. This has been proven on millions of patients - why else would every dermatologist and plastic surgeon offer TCA peels?

So, basically, you can either live with the scurge of acne or treat it. TCA peels are the most cost effective and least harmful solution to acne and can now be purchased directly instead of through your doctor for tremendous savings.
