Currently there are millions of children in the world that were unwanted as babies that were given up for adoption to local shelters. Our personal opinion on these topics is irrelevant but the point that we want to make is that these hardships could have been avoided if the right precautions had been taken. Every time the made love they rolled the dice and if it resulted in pregnancy then so be it. As time went on there were devices and methods that were developed to assist in preventing a baby from resulting after sex. Lots of these procedures and devices were based off of incorrect information and old wives tales but the others were based off of pure science.
Over the recent years science has made leaps and bounds in the area of birth control which has led to the development of some highly effective and very affordable things for women wishing to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Lots of medications have been put on the market. Some of these must be taken orally and others injected and even others that take a patch form. Many have to be taken every single day that protection is desired and others can use every month or every few months. The options are huge and can be fit into any type of lifestyle. Other than medication there are a ton of devices that can be used such as female condoms, sponge, cervical cap or an IUD.
The woman is not the only person involved so that is not the only person that should be thinking about birth control. The man has few options but the condom is the main one. Though it is one option it is considered the greatest, by many, birth control method on earth. Not only can it prevent pregnancy but it can also protect both partners from spreading sexually transmitted diseases also. This is an important point since none of the other methods can help do this since they focus more on the sperm and egg rather than the viruses we can carry.
The act of intercourse is an adult act that is meant for more than fun and has very specific repercussions if the right precautions are not taken. It is as simple as it seems to prevent a woman from getting pregnant but it does take a willingness to try. The methods on the market are very inexpensive in most cases and in many cases free so why not take advantage of what is out there are prevent an unwanted child from entering the world and suffering. Do what you can to learn about the numerous birth control methods available to you as a consumer and being checking them out. Feel free to ask you family doctor about their opinions of each and the pros and cons of them as well. Choose whatever you like but just choose something and be a responsible adult.
